CanSat
A CanSat is an autonomous device, that has to accomplish a certain mission, implemented inside a soft drink can; or in the volume of a 330 ml can (115 mm depth x 66 mm diameter), constituting an exceptional learning platform for students interested in the design, manufacture and operation of satellites. In order to accomplish the different missions, the CanSat has to implement the basic functions of a ‘real’ satellite: power supply, attitude control, comunications, etc.
The participants, students and professionals – alone or with the help of a mentor- have to create a satellite within the structure of a soft drink can. The device will be integrated inside one of the LEEM rockets, to be released at 1.500 meters height, when it should begin its totally autonomous descent.
